Today I had a leisurely day biking around Golden Gate Park, sunbathing, and gazing and pictures of shit at the Gilbert and George exhibit at the De Young Museum.
There's also some weird-ass sculpture in the park. Why does public art have to be so assy?

Better late than never? The day before valentines day I went to the east bay with a special someone and rediscovered the pleasures of Bakesale Bettie's. OMG I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! We had a fried chicken sandwich and they gave us free Italian lemon ices to drink and cookies while we waited. DAMN!

what is it with all the drama lately, i mean, really, is something in retrograde? i don't usually go in for all that stuff but now i'm beginning to wonder.

So there was a big pro-choice (roe v. wade anniversary) and anti-choice rally today at Justin Herman and the Embarcadero. I didn't get to go, but I found this pic of one of my regular customers. Great outfit! Way to go! If I knew it was going to be so fun, I would have taken the day off! Apparently thousands of pro-lifers were bussed in from all over. Well that's just great. More of what California doesn't need. Assholes and smog.

Last Wednesday was Pizza Night: Redoux. For the second week in a row my housemate Joe and myself made some of the best pizza in town. Delfina eat your heart out. #1 with watercress, mozzarella, parsley.
#2 roasted fennel, potatoes, sundried tomatoes, capers etc.
#3 mushrooms, onions, etc.
#4 Michael can't wait. Xtra thin crust. like a cracker.
#5 The favorite. Everything that was leftover.

Thanksgiving at home was great. Very little family to deal with. parents and friends. very nice. a delicious adventure.

the turkey was brined and the mashed potatoes were truffled. tofu, green beans, brussle sprouts, sweet potatoes, corn sticks!!!, another apple pie.

this was definately my best apple pie ever. looks a little toasty, but oh so tasty.
why can't all apple pies be this good?

the boss. so rad. so hot. he's about 60 and he still rocks. i had shitty seats but it didn't really matter. i saw it as my only opportunity to see him. the only bad part: that new album. it'd be ok if i never hear the song "radio nowhere" ever again. he rocked for 2 1/2 hours.

hotmail is so lame. omg. they changed their system and have problems and now i can't send sign into my account. lame. good news: open studios is this weekend! i'm totally unprepared but that's ok. friday, saturday and sunday. mission and 17th. 6-9pm.

so last week i went to sacramento to visit. family. now, i love my family, but jesus! do they complain a lot! it seemed worse than usual, never a moments rest. i convinced my parents to go to my favorite cafe in sac, java lounge. it used to be this dusty yet stylish hole in the wall with eames chairs and mid-century mod couches. complete with shit-talking owner. it's sanitized now but i found glimmers of the attitude i remembered...
soooo glad to be back....even though i've been back for over a week..

saw !!! at the mezzanine last night. so much fun. danced the whole time, just as i predicted. wish i had pictures to share but bringing my camera didn't cross my mind. i was there to DANCE anyhow. here's their latest video.

Drinking all afternoon into evening. home brew. eating cake. barbeque. potato salads. pinata of lube and booze. stepping in dog shit. mellow stream of people filtering in and out. inviting other friends to help finish the kegs (4 kegs!) dance party. it was a fun saturday, well worth taking the day off. why can't parties like this happen more often?
